Bethel University Selects Discovery Garden’s Aurora Platform for Digital Collections
Bethel University, a Christian university located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, has selected Discovery Garden’s Aurora platform to replace its existing CONTENTdm digital repository. Discovery Garden will lead the migration and provide implementation, onboarding, hosting, maintenance, and ongoing support.
Aurora will provide Bethel with a modern, sustainable environment for managing its digital collections. The transition will support the library’s efforts to streamline metadata management and content ingest, improve access controls, and create more efficient workflows for staff. It will also provide predictable hosting and support costs and an improved discovery experience for end users.
"We like the versatility of Islandora for its flexible, standards-based repository architecture and the attractiveness of having a Drupal front end. Because both platforms are open source, we expect them to remain adaptable and sustainable as our needs and the broader digital preservation landscape evolve. We also value the active, collaborative communities that support Islandora and Drupal. We are excited about how this platform will strengthen our digital stewardship of Bethel's collections and foster discovery and scholarship across our academic community." — Kari Jagusch, Digital Initiatives Librarian
