Cincinnati Museum Center Selects Discovery Garden’s Enterprise Islandora Platform for Digital Collections
Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC), one of the largest museum organizations in the United States, has selected Discovery Garden’s Enterprise Islandora platform to support its expanding digitization initiatives and improve the management of born-digital assets across the organization.
Built on the open-source Islandora framework and implemented by Discovery Garden, the solution is designed to provide CMC with a flexible, scalable foundation for discovery, access, and collaboration across departments. As CMC’s digital collections continue to grow, the platform will support the organization’s focus on sustainable infrastructure, streamlined workflows, and evolving digital initiatives.
“Our digital storage needs continue to grow exponentially, particularly as we expand efforts to document and preserve our collections digitally. Islandora will give us a more organized, responsible and scalable way to manage that growing volume of data, while making it easier for our internal colleagues and our external researchers to access that information,” said Jason Perkins, vice president of technology at Cincinnati Museum Center. “We believe Discovery Garden’s Enterprise Islandora provides the right solution to meet both the needs for our current 6.5 million artifacts and to support our continued growth.”
