Discovery Garden Is Heading to SAA 2026
About the Event
The Society of American Archivists (SAA) Annual Meeting & Expo brings together archivists, records professionals, and technology providers to discuss the evolving challenges of managing, describing, and providing access to archival collections.
This year, Discovery Garden will be attending the conference and connecting with members of the archival community to discuss digital collections, repository needs, and approaches to improving access and discoverability.
Supporting Digital Collections with Aurora
Aurora is Discovery Garden’s fully managed, cloud-hosted digital repository platform. Built on Islandora, Aurora helps libraries, archives, museums, and universities manage and share their digital collections without the need to operate and maintain the underlying repository infrastructure themselves.
Many institutions are balancing the need to expand access to digital collections with limited technical resources and growing operational demands. Aurora provides a ready-to-use repository platform that supports common workflows, including managing collections, configuring metadata, controlling access, and making materials searchable and discoverable.
For organizations with more specialized requirements, Discovery Garden also works with institutions to build custom Islandora solutions, integrations, and other repository needs.
SAA 2026 Giveaway
We’re hosting a giveaway at SAA 2026 for a chance to win an Aurora repository implementation valued at approximately $18,000 or a reMarkable Paper Pure.
The Aurora implementation includes deployment, custom branding, metadata mapping, bulk ingest formatting and validation, migration of up to 10,000 objects, training, and access to Aurora resources.
Hosting, support, and maintenance are not included.
